Sale
Policies
Our first goal in selling any horse
from Chanhassen Farm
is to
find it the home that is most ideal for its temperament and potential,
making honesty paramount to every sale. We would never misrepresent an
animal for the purpose of making a deal (or any other reason!); it is
not in our best interest to have unhappy customers. The best
advertisements we have are happy owners who will get out with their
horses, either for show or pleasure,
and tell
others where their
lovely
animals came from! We are always pleased to give post-purchase help and
stay in contact with our buyers.
Fell
Pony Sales
We do not offer foals for sale in
utero. It is our
belief that it is
necessary for each foal to be born ! so that we can assess its
individual qualities and temperament before deciding whether and at
what
point in its training to let it go on to a new home. Chanhassen Farm is
currently in its "budding" stage, of course, so we will likely have
only youngstock for sale in the next few years, but it is our hope to
focus as soon as possible on providing trained adolescent and adult
ponies for sale to other Fell Pony enthusiasts. We believe it
is
important that our ponies be used and enjoyed as this smart, capable
breed is meant to be and that the best way to ensure this is to put the
training into them ourselves before the sale.
Foal
Handling
Our foals will be properly socialized
and broken
confidently to halter before they are offered for sale. They will have
a great deal of "horse time" to develop their horse/pony sensibilities
and socialize both with other babies and the adults of the herd, but
will also be handled regularly and exposed to a variety of situations
and environments. I pride myself on happy, willing horses and ponies
of all ages that have a positive relationship with people. We will know
our horses and ponies inside and out and be able to represent them
accurately and fully to potential new owners!

Chanhassen
Pheonix,
SOLD, thank
you Clinton
Anderson! We are so excited for our own Pheonix to enjoy the life of a
celebrity :-)

Pheonix is the first horse born on our farm! He is
an absolute
doll, the smallest miniature horse I have ever seen with such excellent
proportions, he stands well under 30". Pheonix is two years old and UTD
on all his health and hoof care. He is still a baby, so he doesn't know
how to drive yet, but his sire (Goldhats Rowdy Dorian) and dam
(Felicia, now sold) were both driving ponies and I imagine when he
fills out he would be able to pull as well (though he is very small
now!). Pheonix has great basic ground manners and will load, tie, and
stand for grooming and hoof picking. He must go to a guaranteed
excellent, loving home.
Duchess
SOLD, thank
you and congratulations to Patti in Houston!

I am regretfully offering Duchess for sale to the
right home only. Duchess is 40" and registered ASPC. She is our
resident fairytale pony, with her
beautiful looks and exceptional movement. Duchess was introduced
to driving at the beginning of this summer and has progressed
fantastically. She is confidently moving out on our roads with dogs,
trash cans, kids, and cars on all sides! She has
proven to be a clever and willing pony with
the right nature to take her owner up the levels in combined driving or
prove herself in the pleasure ring. I can't say enough good about
Duchess. I will only let her go a driving home, either as a safe family
or pleasure pony, or for showing. She
also has excellent ground manners and is a lovely horse to be around.
Duchess will continue to be driven until she is sold.
Felicia
SOLD
to Jon, thanks to all who inquired!
Felicia is a beautiful dark bay miniature horse
mare with
endless
stamina and great movement. She is a proven mother of driving ponies as
well--both of her known offspring are amazing pullers, one of which
(Daegn, see News Page for his show career) was responsible for my first
championship ribbon. Her
tail drags the ground and she has enormous soft eyes and a long,
elegant neck. She is very green broke to drive at the moment. I am not
selling Pheonix, so Felicia will not be available to leave the
property until he is weaned. I will gladly accept inquiries on her at
this time, however. She will be very reasonably-priced. See the
miniature horse page for her details! Email for pictures.
Dorian
SOLD, Thank
you and Congrats to
Debbie and Dennis!

Dorian is a 32" three-year old gelding, registered
Goldhat's
Rowdy Dorian with AMHA. Dorian was started in carriage driving this
fall and after having the winter off is back in training and doing
beautifully. He
demonstrates excellent natural impulsion on our drives and despite his
small size can easily pull two average adults in a balanced cart. He is
a strong
and confident puller but quiet and laid-back on the ground, which makes
a stellar combination. Dorian is sure to stand out at the shows with
his flashy palomino pinto coloring and dishy arab face. He is offered
for a very reasonable price to a driving home. Dorian
will continue to be driven until he is sold,
putting on miles and building his confidence.
Rebecca
SOLD,
congrats to
Linda and her family in Anna, TX!

Duchess' daughter, reg'd Pallas Rebecca,
is a
black and white
Amazon child. She was born with legs as long as her mama's,
and
was up running and playing with her pasture companion before
Duchess had even stood up after labor! For this reason, I
gave
Rebecca the goddess Athena's epithet: Pallas. Athena was born
"fully grown and fully armed," immediately making demands and going to
work being a goddess. Our Fully Grown and Fully Armed Pallas
Rebecca has continued being our resident warrioress, despite settling
down into the most refined personality on the place.
Rebecca is now a yearling with a
personality as
beautiful and sweet as
I could possibly have asked for. Aside from being a study in elegance,
she is a peach to catch, leads like a
feather, and is the loveliest pony to be around that we have. Her
rockstar mane and forelock are coming in well, and I have no doubt that
she will be as intelligent and gorgeous as her dam when she grows up.
Her minimal pinto markings are an added flashiness.
